Colonial Times and Revolutionary War
Research Skills Taught in the Library
The eighth grade note taking method combines the best aspects of the sixth and seventh grade systems while introducing the use of notecards instead of paper. As in seventh grade, students organize their ideas into subtopics as they take notes. As in sixth grade, they get to physically move their notes around when forming an outline.
Some students were offered the option of using Noodletools to create virtual notecards.
Internet Skills Taught in the Library
The last research project in 8th grade gives students an opportunity to search the internet for sources. Again we emphasize the ABCs of website evaluation.
